When will my pre-order ship?+
Production starts 4 September, the day the window closes. Orders ship within 5–6 weeks of that date. These are made to order in a single run, which is why there is a wait; nothing is sitting in a warehouse. If that timing slips for any reason you can take a full refund, no questions asked.
Am I charged now or when it ships?+
You are charged today. That payment is what funds the production run, which is what lets us make these in small numbers at this price instead of ordering thousands on spec.
Why is the window only a week?+
One run, one order to the factory. Production starts on 4 September, the same day the window closes — sizes and quantities are locked that morning and go straight to the factory. If you miss it, the next chance is Drop 02.
How does the colour change work?+
The shell carries a thermochromic pigment with an activation point just above room temperature. Below it the pigment is opaque black; above it it turns clear and the dye beneath shows through. Body heat, warm water and direct sun all cross the threshold.
Does the effect wear out?+
It is rated for thousands of full cycles. The colour underneath is a permanent dye and never fades — only the reactive top layer ages, slowly, with normal wear.
Can I buy the pants on their own?+
No. The reactive pants are produced only as part of the set. Select Jacket + Pants — it is the only route to them.
How do I wash it?+
Cold machine wash, inside out, gentle cycle, hang dry. No tumble dryer and no iron — sustained high heat is the one thing that damages the reactive layer.
What is the fit like?+
Boxy and oversized through the body with a cropped hem at the top of the hip. Want it closer? Size down one.
Will it react in cold weather?+
In deep cold it holds its black state until something warm touches it — which is the effect most people want. Body heat and warm rain still trigger it through the day.
Shipping?+
Free shipping over $150. This is a pre-order, so dispatch happens within 5–6 weeks of the window closing rather than in a few days.
Can I return or exchange it?+
No. This is a single made-to-order run, so all sales are final — no returns and no exchanges, including for size. Please use the size guide before you order. The one exception is the ship date: if that slips for any reason you can take a full refund, no questions asked.
